This year 4,900 photos entered the Grand Press Photo competition which competed as single photographs in the following categories: Events, Every Day Life, People, Sport, Nature, Culture and Man (new category), Portrait. In the reportage group there were four categories: Events, Every Day Life, People, Environment. Jury zakwalifikowało do finału 73 zdjęcia pojedyncze, 13 fotoreportaży and 5 documentary projects. In total 72 documentary photographers competed for the prizes. Separate prizes were awarded for single photographs and photo-reportage. All the photographs which reached the final stage of the competition will be exhibited at Złote Tarasy in Warsaw from 9th June.

The winning photo presents a couple resting during Przystanek Woodstock Music Festival.
