„Setkani Encounter” Festival, which takes place in Brno (the Czech Republic) from 14 to 18 April, 2015, is one of the most important European drama festivals devoted to drama school students. This year, 12 plays are being presented at the festival; besides the one from Poland, others are from Slovakia, Hungary, Russia and Lithuania. Last year, our school presented a play based on Dorota Masłowska’s text „Dwoje biednych Rumunów mówiących po polsku” directed by Małgorzata Bogajewska. Tomek Lipiński returned from Brno with the Best Actor Prize.

The play„Kamień” directed by Grzegorz Wiśniewski is based on the text of a contemporary German playwright Marius von Mayenburg. Five actresses: Alicja Juszkiewicz, Paulina Nadel, Anita Tomczak, Kaja Walden, Barbara Wypych and an actor, Maciej Miszczak, perform in the play. Non-linear construction of the play’s narration may be a challenge for both the performers and the audience. Nevertheless, the play, whose premiere took place on 4 October, 2014, was critically acclaimed and has been very popular with the audience ever since.

The performances of „Kamień” at the Studyjny Theatre in Łodz are scheduled for 29 and 30 April.
