The jury decision has been announced. The Grand Prix went to the film Kac – screenplay & direction: Maciej Buchwald. See the full list of prizes awarded.

Last night, a few minutes past 11 p.m. the jury announced the winners of the 13th "Łodzią po Wiśle" competition. Below you can see the complete jury decision.

The jury of the 13th Łodzią po Wiśle Festival including: Bodo Kox, Łukasz Gutt, Tomasz Siwiński and Kuba Socha decided to grant the following prizes:

Grand Prix: Kac, screenplay & direction: Maciej Buchwald (artistic supervision: Łukasz Barczyk)
Justification: For a coherent and personal vision of a drinking problem lots of Polish people face, tackled by the director with a dose of humour.

Best Fiction Film: Gigant, screenplay & direction: Tomasz Jeziorski (artistic supervision: Robert Gliński, Andrzej Musiał, Witold Sobociński)
Justification: For skillful direction of young actors, which makes the viewers follow the story eagerly.

Best Documentary: Mów do mnie, screenplay & direction: Marta Prus (artistic supervision: Jacek Bławut, Andrzej Sapija)
Justification: For sincere unveiling of documentary filmmaker’s skills and bald breaking of narrative clichés.

Distinction: Egzamin dojrzałości, screenplay & direction: Filip Gieldon (artistic supervision: Jacek Bławut, Andrzej Sapija)
Justification: For the ability to find fantastic protagonists and a skilful eye which catches pure film situations.

Best Animated Film: Dokument by Marcin Podolec (artistic supervision Piotr Dumała).
Justification: For animation which in an unconventional way enters the realm of a documentary.

Best Cinematography: Taka nasza gra, photography: Michał Dymek, screenplay and direction: Katarzyna Lesisz (artistic supervision: Mariusz Grzegorzek, Jolanta Dylewska).
Justification: For sensitive camera work which reflects emotions of the protagonists.

Special Prize of Artur Liebhart, the Docs Against Gravity Festival’s Director goes to Eugeniusz Pankov for the documentary Drugie życie (artistic supervision: Mirosław Dembiński, Maciej Drygas).

FESTIVAL PRIZES

Financial Prizes: Grand Prix – 5,000 PLN; Best Fiction Film – 2,500 PLN; Best Documentary – 2,500 PLN; Best Animated Film – 2500 PLN; Best Cinematography – 2,500 PLN.

Other Prizes: Apart from the money prize, Maciej Buchwald received a director’s chair from the firm, Krzesłoreżyserskie.pl, and two days of online service, that is a special effects service from the firm Chimney Poland.

Michał Dymek received a prize in the form of 3 days of lighting and camera equipment rental for the production of his next student film from the firm, HELIOGRAF Technika Filmowa.

All winners received film publications from the National Audiovisual Institute and European film fund guides, Chimney’s Top 100 European Film Funds. The Gateway to European Financing from Chimney Poland and a yearly subscription to the professional film periodicals: Film & TV Kamera & FilmPro.
