"Michnik. Be a realist, demand the impossible" - the latest documentary by Maria Zmarz-Koczanowicz, a documentary film-maker and a Lodz Film School lecturer, at the school cinema on 11 March, (Wedn.)

- Somebody may say – a monument. Yes, but one which does not fit any base. Adam Michnik is a man who cannot be pigeonholed. – said Maria Zmarz – Koczanowicz interviewed by Tadeusz Sobolewski. Maria Zmarz-Koczanowicz, a Lodz Film School direction lecturer, has, among others, the following documentary films in her filmography: „Każdy wie kto za kim stoi” (1982), „Major albo rewolucja krasnoludków” (1989), „Pokolenie 89” (2002) – rewarded with the Bronze Lajkonik. The screening of her latest film has been scheduled for 11, March (Wednesday) at 7 p.m.. After the screening there will be a meeting with the director. The meeting will be run by a historian, dr Mikołaj Mirowski. The Lodz Film School screening is the next public screening of the film following its premiere in Krakow last February.

The film is a portrayal of Adam Michnik, one of the most interesting members of the political life in Poland, a legendary opposition member, the Round Table politician and the founder of „Gazeta Wyborcza” newspaper. He is one of those who have changed Poland, hence the title of the film „Be a realist, demand the impossible” derived from the leading slogan of Paris events of May,1968 – says the director.
