Jakub Michnikowski and Sebastian Weber’s „Maja” is screening at the New York International Children’s Film Festival in the „Heebie Jeebies” program.

The main character in the film, a girl called Maja, has to face the death of her beloved grandpa. Jakub Michnikowski, a fifth year direction student, is the director of the film "Maja". Sebastian Weber, third year cinematography student, performed the role of the director of photography and assistant director on the project. The film produced by the Lodz Film School was made under the artistic supervision of Józef Romasz, Krzysztof Ptak and Stefan Czyżewski. The film was screened in the Berlinale International Film Festival program.

New York International Children's Film Festival, which was founded in 1997, screens thoughtful, provocative, and intelligent films for children and teens ages 3-18. The New York City Festival has become the largest film festival for children and teens in North America. Out of 2,500 film entries from all over the world the organizers have selected 100 short and feature films. The short “Maja” will be screened within HEEBIE JEEBIES Program, a collection of strange and scary short films from around the world, for ages 10 to adult. The NY Children’s Film Festival is an Academy Award qualifying festival, one of only three film festivals in New York State. This year the festival starts on 27th February and will last to 22nd March.
