Sebastian Buttny, the director of "Heavy Mental" and Michał Sobociński, the DOP of the film "Kamczatka" by Jerzy Kowynia, win the Andrzej Munk Prize.

On 20th November at 7 p.m. the Munk Prize Competition was closed. During the ceremony the guests were greeted by the Lodz Film School Rector prof. Mariusz Grzegorzek. Łukasz Barczyk, the Jury President, handed the prizes to the winners.

The decision about the Munk Prize Competition winners was made by a jury consisting of Lodz Film School professors and students and the winners of the former Competition.

Andrzej Munk Prize Competition jury consisting of: Łukasz Barczyk (the Jury President), Jolanta Dylewska, Jakub Kijowski, Szymon Uliasz, Aniela Gabryel and Zuzanna Pyda granted the following Prizes: The Prize for Best Direction went to SEBASTIAN BUTTNY for the film "HEAVY MENTAL"

Prize justification: For speaking in a loud voice, without following already existing narration and dramaturgy patterns.
For finding and tackling an up-to-date subject – a story about being truthful to oneself at a risk of loosing acceptance or love, and about the process of self-fulfilment through accepting one’s own nature in the times of chasing after media promoted models.
For precision, scantiness and purity in using film expression means and their adequacy for the subject matter and the type of the film.
For daring choice of actors and consistency in building an unusual inner world of the main protagonist.
