On 3rd October, new academic year inauguration day, Lodz Film School Photo Gallery (Conservatory) at the New Media Bld will be opened.

The opening exhibition at The Conservatory will be "Continuity and Colisions". Its curator, Piotr Kotlicki is an artist, painter, and lecturer at the Lodz Film School Direction Department. The exhibition will consist of student work done during art classes with Professors Ryszard Hunger and Mirosław Ledwosiński as well as private individual student works.

Anna Kazimierczak, a Lodz Film School PhD student, is the gallery's curator says,'The gallery will be a place for artistic exchange beyond boundaries,a place to display works of students from all departments in our school, a place to exhibit student works from other arts schools in Poland and abroad. We will offer cooperation to curators from outside the school, which we hope will widely promote the work of our students, but most of all will create a platform to exchange thoughts, initiate dilogue and confront various aesthetics and viewpoints. At least once a year, we will present an individual exhibition, and also once a year, the students will be curators of an exhibition. We also hope to present the works of our teachers unknown to their students and student works unknown to the teachers.'

Aleksandra Jach, a curator from the Museum of Art in Lodz says,'Lodz Film School Gallery will be a place currently lacking in Lodz; open to cooperation with various individuals and institutions representing the local community, but also incorporating interesting phenomena occuring in Poland and abroad. Filmmakers, curators, artists will perform various parts there, introducing an atmosphere of experiment and securing a constant flow of fresh ideas.'
