Jagoda Szelc, a Lodz Film School direction student, wins the Wojciech Jerzy Has Prize which will be handed to her in August during the 3rd Kołobrzeg Film Festival.

"Jagoda Szelc, who is about to graduate from the Lodz Film School direction department, is going to receive the Wojciech Jerzy Has prize this year. It will be a great priviledge for me to hand over this year's prize which I have been funding since 2003 when I established it after the death of my husband, W.J.Has. This year, I will give the prize to Jagoda Szelc during the 3rd Kolobrzeg "Sensational Film Summer" Film Festival in August 2014. The first winner of the prize was director, Marek Lechki who received it for the film 'Moje Miasto', and the most recent one, art director, Wojtek Żogała, a Lodz Film School lecturer, and an ex-student of Prof.Has. The prize was awarded in November last year during the Polish Film Music Festival in Lodz. Thank you for the opportunity to hand the prize in Kolobrzeg to this especially talented young director, who is fearless in her quest for the film of her dreams. Congratulations from Wanda Ziembicka-Has".
