Milenia Fiedler chosen Rector for the second term

The School Electoral Commission announced that Milenia Fiedler has been chosen as the Rector of the Lodz Film School for the next 2024-2028 term as a result of the vote by the Electoral Body.

The School Electoral Commission announces that on April 11, 2024, in the election vote of the Rector of the L. Schiller National Film, Television and Theatre School in Łódź, for the 2024-2028 term, the candidate Milenia Fiedler obtained the following number of votes:
- votes for "YES": 29
- votes for "NO": 8
- abstentions: 7 

44 out of 50 School Electors took part in the voting. The School Electoral Commission announces that the School Electoral Body has elected Milenia Fiedler, PhD, for the position of Rector of the L. Schiller National Film, Television and Theatre School in Łódź for the 2024-2028 term.

According to the Electoral Regulations: § 26. (...)
7. Complaints regarding the election of the Rector may be submitted in writing to the Secretary of the Electoral Commission within 7 days from the closing of the election meeting.
8. After the specified deadline, the Chairman of the Electoral Body confirms the election of the Rector in writing and immediately notifies the appropriate minister of the election.
9. If the School Electoral Commission receives a complaint related to the conduct of elections, the Commission adopts a resolution on the complaint.

Milenia Fiedler was born in Łódź.
In 1989, she graduated in editing from the Film and Television Faculty of the FAMU Academy of Performing Arts in Prague.
In 2005, she obtained a doctor of arts degree, and in 2009, a PhD in film arts.
Editor. Co-author of nearly 250 feature and documentary films, series and TV Theatre plays.

She cooperated with Andrzej Wajda ("Katyń", "Tatarak", "Wałęsa. Człowiek z nadziei"), Wojciech Marczewski ("Czas zdrady", "Weiser"), Janusz Majewski ( "Excentrycy czyli po słonecznej stronie ulicy", "Czarny mercedes"), Bodo Kox ("Dziewczyna z szafy", "Człowiek z magicznym pudełkiem"), Jerzy Stuhr ("Obywatel"), Krzysztof Zanussi ("Obce ciało", "Eter", "Liczba doskonała") and Filip Bajon (Panie Dulskie, Kamerdyner), among others.

Artistic supervisor of the documentary-fiction film "Warsaw Uprising", directed by Jan Komasa and its international version.

She is a two-time winner of the award for editing at the Polish Feature Film Festival in Gdynia for the films "Time of Betrayal"("Czas zdrady") and "Weiser".

For her work on "Weiser" she also received the "Eagle" award from the Polish Film Academy.
She was nominated for "Eagles" for editing the films "Katyń", "Wałęsa. Man of Hope" and "The Butler".
Awarded the Award of the President of the Polish Filmmakers Association for the best editing of the documentary "Głos" at the Krakow Film Festival.

She has been associated with the Lodz Film School for over 20 years. Lecturer at the Editing Department at the Faculty of Film and Television Directing. From 2016-2020, she headed the department and was the Artistic supervisor of several dozen student films.

Since 2020, Rector of the Lodz Film School.

Member of the Polish Film Academy and the European Film Academy (EFA).
