"Fragments" receive Grand Prix at Łodzią po Wiśle

On 26th April at 11 p.m. "Łodzią po Wiśle" Festival Jury announced its verdict: the Grand Prix was awarded to a fiction film "Fragments" by Aga Woszczyńska.

The Festival Jury consisting of: Maciej Pieprzyca, director and screenwriter, Szymon Lenkowski, cinematographer, and Szymon Holcman, film theoretician, awarded the following prizes:

The Grand Prix: "Fragments" by Aga Woszczyńska (artistic supervision Filip Bajon & Ryszard Lenczewski). – For very clear, coherent, mature vision - a completely professional film 'Fragments" – explained Maciej Pieprzyca. Besides a financial prize Aga Woszczyńska received a director’s chair. In May the film will be presented in competition in the short film category at the Festival in Cannes.

Best fiction film: "Obowiązki" by Anna Karasińska (artistic supervision Jan Jakub Kolski). Maciej Pieprzyca: - For a sense of humour and successful confrontation with the most difficult film genre.

Best documentary: "Aj waj" by Joanna Satanowska (artistic supervision: Grażyna Kędzielawska and Maria Zmarz-Koczanowicz). – This year there were few documentaries presented at the festival. The prize was awarded in recognition of true and straightforward presentation of the subject matter, which happens to be very difficult and has been approached by many artists before. – pointed out Szymon Holcman, a jury member.

Best animation: "Nieprawdopodobnie elastyczny człowiek" - by Karolina Specht (artistic supervision Henryk Ryszka and Aleksandra Chrapowicka). - This animation is a consistent and very interesting metaphor of a contemporary man - said Szymon Holcman.

Best photography: Bartosz Świniarski for "Fragments" by Aga Woszczyńska. – I have seen many interesting films at the festival, which is very encouraging. The prize has been awarded to photography at the highest world level which conveys emotions and presents film’s coherent vision. – announced on stage Szymon Lenkowski, a cinematographer and "Łodzią po Wiśle" festival jury member.

The Jury assigned two distinctions: for a fiction film "Constellations" by Aniela Gabryel "for a moving, full of emotions film" (artistic supervision Mariusz Grzegorzek) and a student film "Albert" by a director of photography Daniel Wawrzyniak "for building atmosphere with light" (artistic supervision Zbigniew Wichłacz).

Festival Planete+ Doc director Artur Liebhart’s special prize was awarded to a documentary "Enrichment" by Marcin Strauchold (artistic supervision: Grażyna Kędzielawska and Maria Zmarz-Koczanowicz).
