Last weekend, third-year students of the Acting Department had the opportunity to hone their acting skills under the supervision of Maciej Stuhr, theatre and film actor and lecturer at the Theatre Academy in Warsaw.

The two-day workshop took the form of a laboratory which concerned the actor's work in front of the camera. The lecturer showed the students how to adjust the actors' means of expression in the context of making a film. He also showed the differences between stage acting in the theatre and in front of the camera, which was possible thanks to the support of technological tools (the scenes played were recorded). Depending on the context of the performance – whether it is for theatre or film - the actor's means of expression change.

Maciej Stuhr presented the young adepts with opportunities the work on a film set, depending on the type of the shot (wide- shot, medium, close-up, etc.). He also pointed out the limitations of an actor's work in front of the camera.
