Recent Lodz Film School student films screening at the Iluzjon cinema in Warsaw 25-26 April. See "Łodzią po Wiśle" Festival programme.
"Łodzią po Wiśle", an annual event organized by Lodz Film School students, is the premiere screening of their recent films made in the last academic year. The films are grouped into 2 sets: competition and panorama.
The Festival has been organized in Warsaw since 2003. Apart from regular cinema goers the films are watched by journalists, producers and other representatives of the film industry. For most films it is the beginning of their festival lives and an occasion to get the first prizes.
The films are evaluated by a professional jury and the Grand Prix is awarded as well as prizes for the best films in the following categories: fiction, documentary, animation and direction of photography student film.
The Jury:
MACIEJ PIEPRZYCA – film director and screenwriter. Directed the films frequently awarded at Polish and international festivals, among them: fiction films (Drzazgi, Chce się żyć), TV films (Inferno, Barbórka), documentaries (Przez nokaut, Jestem mordercą) and TV plays (Fryzjer, Padnij, Rodzinny Show).

SZYMON LENKOWSKI, PSC – director of photography. Director of photography of feature films e.g. “Bez wstydu” by Filip Marczewski and “Jestem twój” by Mariusz Grzegorzek as well as documentaries, amongst which there are “Nasiona” by Wojciech Kasperski and “Krasnoludki jadą na Ukrainę” by Mirosław Dembiński. Silver Tadpole winner at Camerimage Festival, Cracow Lajkonik winner for best documentary and TVP Chairman Prize winner for best photography at the 48th Cracow Film Festival. His films have been screened at the Cannes Festival in the New Talents section. Participant of Budapest Cinematography Masterclass and Berlinale Talent Campus. Lodz Film School cinematography graduate. Since 2011 the chairman of Polish Society of Cinematographers Technical Committee; member of IMAGO, international society of cinematographers, and member of International 3D society.

SZYMON HOLCMAN - film theory graduate from the Yagiellonian University in Cracow. Kultura Gniewu Publishing House owner publishing best contemporary Polish and international comics. For past 10 years connected with Gutek Film, where he has introduced over 130 films to cinema distribution. For a few years the main publisher of New Horizons Festival catalogue. Jury member of Warsaw Uprising Museum comics competition and the International Comics Festival in Łodz. For the past years a selection committee member for Cartoon Movie Festival in Lyon.
