OKSANA ZABUŻKO, an outstanding figure of the Ukrainian literary scene, is coming to Łódź. Her stay, planned for October 7 and 8, will include a tight schedule of meetings with the Łódź audience.

The University of Łódź, the Lodz Film School, the "Kaleidoscope of Culture" magazine, Nowy Theatre in Łódź, Factory of Urban Activity - Multicultural Centre and the City of Łódź invite you to events related to OKSANA ZABUŻKO’s stay in Łódź.

Oksana Zabużko is an outstanding Ukrainian writer, poet and one of the most frequently translated Ukrainian writers whose leading novels are considered the greatest publishing successes in the history of independent Ukraine. She is also an essayist writing about Ukrainian culture, the history of Ukrainian thought, and the processes of creating a modern type of national consciousness in Europe. Being the main ambassador of "Ukrainianness" in the West, in her own country she is perceived as an authority.

The presence of Oksana Zabużko in Łódź is an invitation to responsibly initiate a serious public discussion in Łódź on Ukraine and its relationships with Europe, Russia and Poland.

During her two-day stay there will be a lecture entitled "Ukrainian story: Cognition and self-cognition as a security issue" (registration required!), a narrative workshops as well as an open meeting with the author entitled "One hundred years of our loneliness".
