The animated short THE WILDWOOD DIPTYCH by Szymon Ruczyński and Katarzyna Małyszko has won the Best Short Film Prize at the 19th Nisa Film Festival.

The film was inspired by the ongoing conflict over one of the most valuable forests in Europe - the Białowieża Primeval Forest and tells the story of an ancient forest from the perspective of nature and man. The awarding of the Prize sponsored by the Hochschule Zittau / Görlitz Student Government was selected by a jury composed of: German filmmaker Till Giermann, Polish director Anna Pawluczuk and Czech writer, documentary director and producer Linda Dědková.

The jury's statement reads: "This film draws us into its magical world. It shows us that family is more than just people. The film takes us on a journey through an exciting, mysterious and vibrant place that is essential to our survival together: the oldest wilderness in Europe. As the jury, we admire this film's insightful look at ecology, great animation and dark humour. "
