Next Tuesday, February 1, the director and screenwriter Aleksandra Terpińska will visit us.

ALEKSANDRA  TERPIŃSKA

Director, screenwriter, documentary filmmaker, co-author of series, commercials and music videos.
She graduated in directing from the University of Silesia in Katowice and psychology in Wrocław.
As early as in her student films and award-winning shorts, she surprised us with her maturity and perfect craftsmanship.
Her award-winning MOST BEAUTIFUL FIREWORKS EVER is a dystopian vision of a civil war in an undefined city in Europe, showing the consequences of philosophical differences and social divisions.

She received the POLITYKA Passport distinction for the full-length feature film OTHER PEOPLE, which according to many critics, has been the best film adaptation of Dorota Masłowska's prose so far.
By adapting hip-hop poetics to Polish cinema, she speaks in a perverse way about the mutual dislike, but also about mutual attraction between the classes.

This is what Łukasz Maciejewski wrote in the justification: "We have known for a long time that she has great talent. But she is probably even better than we thought. She achieved the impossible. From Masłowska's rap prose - twisted, distracted, non-linear, she created a twisted, distracted, linear film story in which you can feel the presence not only of Masłowska but Terpińska as well. For me, it is the most interesting Polish film of the season. "
