The diploma play "God Counted the Days" of the Lodz Film School students of acting directed by Radek Stępień will have its premiere February 5 and 6 at our Studyjny Theatre!

GOD COUNTED THE DAYS

Lame dogs decorate the roads
The devil confuses girls' legs
Trees to flowers, flowers to thorns
Dead bodies run after dreams

- What exactly is this city famous for, you said?

Why in a place where there are not so many stimuli around, a place where there is greyness instead of glaring neon lights and barking of dogs instead of the roar of engines…where ghouls that normally torment the inhabitants of big cities, do not stop but even intensify their attacks? We return to a city like the one Demarczyk sings about, with the main character - a young, less than 30-year-old jazz critic, who after being away since his high school graduation time, confronts everything that he had left behind.

- A city like any other ... a bit dirty and gloomy, there are some chavs around, but on the whole nothing terrible, it's like that everywhere …

Since this is the case everywhere, why should this return to the provinces left behind years ago always be so painful?
What drives us when we return to a place where we have left nothing but skin that we shed long ago?
What do we expect to hear from long-unseen friends whom we have left far behind?
What did we not want to see while running away … not turning back?

- And you know why you have not won anything, and you will never win anything? Because you're disgusting.

Is it possible to return in time and space to the place where we started our lives as adults? If it could be done, maybe it would also be possible to find the mistake which was made at the beginning, which makes you feel chased by impossible ambitions no matter what you do nor where you run?
No, it's impossible to go back. You saw the signs but you didn't understand them. God has counted your reign, you have been weighed and shown too light, and your kingdom will be divided.
