The International Conference of Film Schools devoted to the art of film editing, which took place at the Lodz Film School from 18-19 November, has finished.
Over 30 participants from Europe attended the conference at the Film School in Łódź, we connected with the rest of the world online.
The main organizer of the event was the Lodz Film School in cooperation with the schools FAMU (Prague), VSMU (Bratislava) and ADU (Zagreb), under the patronage of the European Association of Film Schools - GEECT /Groupement Européen des Ecoles de Cinéma et de Télévision / European Grouping of Film and Television Schools.
The conference was devoted to the process of educating a film editor with the focus indicated by the conference title: how to become a PERFECT FILM EDITOR.
We analysed how to teach the art of film editing and which methods to use in the constantly changing work environment of editors in the context of new technologies.
We also talked about the possibilities and threats of artificial intelligence and what the profession of an editor will look like in the future. We also looked at how to best convey the complex process of the art of film editing to students. The conference was held in English.
