Documentary film POLISH SELF-PORTRAIT by our directing students Jakub Drobczyński, Maciej Białoruski & Robert Rawłuszewicz, will have its world premiere during 18 Millennium Docs Against Gravity Fest

This year, the 18th edition of the Millennium Docs Against Gravity film festival will take place in a hybrid form.
From 3rd to 12th September, the cinema part will be held in seven Polish cities - Warsaw, Wrocław, Gdynia, Poznań, Katowice, Bydgoszcz and Lublin.
Then, from 16th September to 3rd October, the online part of the festival will take place, during which some of the films from this year's programme will be presented, and extremely important debates and meetings with exceptional guests will be organized.

POLISH SELF-PORTRAIT is included in the official section "Life in the times of a pandemic". The festival screening will be the film’s world premiere. The Film School in Łódź took over the honorary patronage over the film.

Young, Polish cinema. These titles prove that lockdown enhances creativity. Even "ordinary" people who care about documenting this strange reality reach for the camera (even on a smartphone). Result? Amazing! - we read on the festival website.

Marriages are ending. Lives are terminated. It will be tough when this is all over. It's good that I can talk to you at least. In inverted commas, of course - says Piotr, who has been closed in his own flat for a month now. Virtually all Poles found themselves in the same situation. In isolation, they wait for a vaccine to cure them of the virus of loneliness. In their homes, they film intimate accounts of their lives, hoping that someone will listen to them and hug them. In inverted commas, of course. "Polish Self-Portrait" is a year long record of a pandemic reality. It consists of personal films of the film’s heroes and a documentary recording of Polish realities during the COVID-19 pandemic.
