"Golden Film" is an award that film critics of the Polish Filmmakers Society, affiliated with the International Film Press Federation FIPRESCI, have been awarding continuously since 1985 - for the best picture of Polish screens in the categories of Polish and foreign film.

The list of foreign productions which won the "Golden Film" award includes films by such masters as: Ingmar Bergman, Federico Fellini, Michelangelo Antonioni, Luchino Visconti, Luis Bunuel, Robert Bresson, Andrei Tarkowski, Jiri Menzel, Milos Forman, Peter Weir, Michael Haneke and Asghar Farhadi.

The group of Polish directors honoured with the "Golden Film" includes: Andrzej Wajda, Andrzej Munk, Wojciech Has, Kazimierz Kutz, Stanisław Różewicz, Jerzy Skolimowski, Krzysztof Zanussi, Krzysztof Kieślowski, Wojciech Smarzowski and Małgorzata Szumowska.
