On April 4, ZYGMUNT MALANOWICZ died at the age of 83. A respected film and theatre actor, a graduate of the Acting Department of the Łódź Film School.

ZYGMUNT MALANOWICZ

Actor. In the 1962/63 season he worked at the Lubuski Theatre in Zielona Góra, and in 1963-66 at the Dramatyczny Theatre in Poznań. In 1966-71 he performed at the People's Theatre in Nowa Huta, in 1975-78 at the Powszechny Theatre in Łódź, for the next two seasons at the Żeromski Theatre in Kielce. Since 1980, he worked at Warsaw theatres: in 1980-82, he was an actor of the Studio Theatre, and in 1982-91, of the Rozmaitości Theatre. In 2000-2003 he played at the Dramatyczny Theatre, and in 2003-2008 again at the Rozmaitości Theatre. From 2008 until present, he was an actor at Nowy Theatre in Warsaw.

He played, among others in Roman Polański's debut „Nóż w wodzie” ("Knife in the Water") and Andrzej Wajda's films „Polowanie na muchy” ("Hunting Flies") and „Krajobraz po bitwie”("Landscape after the Battle"), as well as in such films as "Hubal" and "Jarosław Dąbrowski" by Bohdan Poręba, „Trąd” ("Leprosy") by Andrzej Trzos-Rastawiecki, „Tulipany” ("Tulips") and „Wszystko co kocham” ("All That I Love") by Jacek Borcuch, „Córki dancingu” ("The Lure") by Agnieszka Smoczyńska, „Dziura w głowie” ("A Hole in the Head") by Piotr Subbotka and „Ojciec” ("Father") by Artur Urbański.

He also played in series, incl. in Jan Łomnicki's „Dom” ("House") or „Stawka większa niż życie” ("Stake Larger than Life"), dir. Janusz Morgenstern.
