Prof. TADEUSZ PAŁKA, documentary film-maker, graduate and lecturer at the Directing Department of the Łódź Film School died on April, 4 at the age of 79.

Documentary film-maker.
In 1969, he graduated from the Faculty of Psychology at the University of Warsaw, and
in 1974, from direction which he studied at the Łódź Film School under the guidance of a documentary filmmaker, Prof. Kazimierz Karabasz.

His films include, among others, „Ze wsi”, „Wygrać przegrać”, „Wiatr jest silniejszy”, „Gospodarstwo”, „Młyn”, „Mieszkanie w bloku” and „Z życia pomników”.

In 1988, „Nadzieja” ("Hope") was made, the most famous and awarded film by Tadeusz Pałka. The director received the Silver Dragon and the Silver Hobby-Horse for the film at the National Short Film Festival in Krakow, 2nd prize at the Short Film Festival in Berlin and the Bronze Plate at the International Short Film Festival in Huesca.

Tadeusz Pałka was a long-term lecturer at the Directing Department of the Film School in Łódź, as well as a professor at the Department of Cultural Studies at the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin.
