From February 1, we invite you to the long-awaited exhibition SCULPTURE IN THE SEARCH OF PLACE, at the ZACHĘTA National Gallery of Art in Warsaw, curated by Anna Maria Leśniewska, Ph. D., lecturer at the Department of Cinematography and TV Production, the Lodz Film School.

The exhibition is accompanied by a screening of student films by filmmakers from the Lodz Film School and an online publication, including statements by the artists participating in the exhibition and an extensive text by the curator.

"The reason why the trailer for the exhibition SCULPTURE IN THE SEARCH OF PLACE was created is obvious, as it resulted from the need to break the existing conventions of presenting exhibitions, especially sculpture. The idea of the trailer was born from a fascination with the film" Hydrozagadka "(1970), directed by Andrzej Kondratiuk, in which the verbal message, daringly presented by the outstanding artist Iga Cembrzyńska, which is a kind of replacement for the traditional film credits, conveys through the expression of gestures, facial expressions, modulation of the actress's voice, the content of the graphic message that usually precedes the projection. The same happens in the case of our exhibition, where the classic invitation has been replaced by a scene performed by the actress Justyna Wasilewska, a graduate of the Lodz Film School and one of the most charismatic actresses of the young generation. The exhibition has been presented in a surprising way, through the comprehensive use of acting means, and the trailer sketches in the viewers' imagination the personality and temperament of those who gave the final shape to the exhibition. The trailer introduces the atmosphere of a meeting with various hybrids of forms, created as a result of the implementation of an extended concept of sculpture at the exhibition, examples of which are waiting for viewers at and on the walls of Zachęta.
