The S3D workshop is functioning at full blast! As part of the vnLab / Visual Narrative Laboratory, shooting has begun for a project aimed at exploring the potential of stereoscopic imaging, in particular in a puppet film.

Using a technically advanced motion-control robot, created for the needs of stop-motion animation, team members will conduct a series of visual experiments, exploring the possibilities and difficulties in 3D film production.

Over the course of three years, the workshop team will explore the possibilities of film language in building dramaturgy provided by a spatial image. Apart from the experiments, a short film using puppet techniques will be made. That's not all, scientific publications describing the issues of stereoscopy will be the starting point for a textbook on stereoscopy in stop-motion animation, which will be published at the end of the research process.

The premiere of the film and the textbook is planned for 2022.
Keep your fingers crossed for us!
