Lodz Film School lecturers and graduates among the nominees for the Polish Film Awards, EAGLES 2020.

On February 5, we learned about the nominations for the 22nd Polish Film Awards, Eagles 2020.

The film "Corpus Christi" by Jan Komasa, our graduate and lecturer, this year's Polish Oscar candidate, received as many as 15 nominations. 12 nominations obtained the film "Mister T." directed by our graduate, Marcin Krzyształowicz, and 11 "Icarus. Legend of Mietek Kosz" by our graduate Maciej Pieprzyca.

This year, unlike in previous years, members of the Polish Film Academy voted for five nominees in each category. The award ceremony will take place on March 2. This year, for the first time in the award’s history, there will be an award for Best Make-up.

The Eagle was created in 1999 by director, film producer and long-time President of the Polish Film Academy, Dariusz Jabłoński. For 20 years of their history the Eagles, which are awarded to best Polish filmmakers every year for the highest achievements in 18 categories, have become one of the most prestigious and desirable awards in the Polish film industry.

This year, as many as 166 productions, including feature films, documentaries and series, competed for the awards. 72 Polish feature films, which met the statutory condition of weekly cinema distribution in 2019, qualified for this year's Main Competition. In the Best Documentary Film category, members of the Polish Film Academy selected the nominees from among 79 titles, while 15 productions competed in the Best Film Feature Series category.
