Last rehearsals of the next graduation play of the Acting Department students are underway. The staging of William Shakespeare’s “Hamlet” is directed by Waldemar Zawodziński. The premiere on Jan, 4, 5
Each generation has its own Hamlet. Wait a minute ... No! It has been that way so far. Now we need more! In the diploma play directed by Waldemar Zawodziński, the firepower of Shakespeare's most mysterious play will be fourfold!
HAMLET x 4 means four parts, four Hamlets and ... different translations! What if the real Hamlet hides even more flaws? What if all the actors’ performances on the theatre stage so far were to be considered an attempt to put our vigilance to sleep?
The role of the Danish prince has been already played by Edmund Fetting, Jerzy Stuhr, Mirosław Baka, Mariusz Bonaszewski, and Borys Szyc amongst others However, especially for the young generation of actors, creating a multidimensional character of Hamlet was often associated with crossing borders and reaching the level of acting maturity. In 2010, in the diploma play of the acting students from the Krakow Drama School, Hamlet was played by a beginner in the profession, Jakub Gierszał who in this way started his adventure with acting with a strong blow. Four students will play the role of Hamlet at the Studyjny Theatre in Łódź. This fact promises an electrifying duel. Which students from the very strong and bursting with emotions acting group will play the main roles?
