THEIR VOICES / Eri Mizutani / 2017 / 26'

Boarding school pupils create a childlike magical world to which we do not have access. In silence, through subtly conducted observation, we have the opportunity to look at their facial expressions, understand their emotions, and finally - to hear their voices, inaudible to us at the beginning of the film.

SISTERS / Michał Hytroś / 2017 / 20'

Behind a mighty 800-year-old wall, in the oldest female cloister monastery in Poland - the Benedictine monastery in Staniątki near Krakow, the life of 12 sisters is going on – 70 being the average age of the sisters. Despite their advanced years and the world changing at a frantic pace behind the wall, every day, they try to subordinate their lives to the rule "ORA et LABORA" invented more than 10 centuries ago. Our heroines - the sisters Anunciata and Benedicta (in the monastery for 40 years), introduce us with their own charm into the world behind the wall, talk about their lives and decisions made. They show us the monastic world in all its shades, completely stripped of stereotypical images; often touching and funny at the same time. This is a film about silence told extremely loudly.

Artistic supervision: Grażyna Kędzielawska, Dorota Wardęszkiewicz, Jacek Bławut
