A diploma show of Lodz Film School acting students DON’T EAT THAT! IT’S FOR CHRISTMAS! by Mariusz Grzegorzek in the programme of the 39th VGIK International Student Festival in Moscow on 12 November.

This year, the Moscow festival has a special dimension and significance on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the oldest film school in the world, VGIK https://vgik.info/-  which is its organizer.

This is what the director, Mariusz Grzegorzek said about the show after the premiere:

“We have surpassed ourselves, the actors went all the way as the show does not allow room for excuses”

“Speaking honestly, openly, overcoming barriers, putting us in a sense of some discomfort, this is a CONVERSATION that is worth having. Come and talk to us like this! Leave the safety zone and touch the danger zone. And feel something very strongly! Even for a moment! Even if your mum, dad, grandmother, teacher and priest warn you tirelessly: DO NOT EAT THAT! IT’S FOR CHRISTMAS!”

For many years now VGIK Film Festival has provided an excellent opportunity to young film makers from all over the world to demonstrate their talents, share their point of view with the audience and ask questions that are important for the young generation. This is always a lively creative process, that takes place within the premises of the legendary Russian Filmmaking University that celebrates its 100th year anniversary this year. It’s pleasant to note that each year the amount of international participants grows. This year 72 film schools from 37 different countries have sent in their submissions to take part in the Festival. Their works are evaluated by authoritative jury compiled of world famous filmmakers. ​
