On October 14, the Senate of the University of Arts in Poznań awarded Professor Józef Robakowski, a lecturer at the Cinematography Department of the Lodz Film School, the title of Doctor Honoris Causa. The laudation was given by Prof. Marek Wasilewski, the reviewers were: Prof. Janusz Bałdyga, Prof. Stefan Ficner, Prof. Ryszard Kluszczyński and Prof. Peter Weibel.

The title award ceremony will take place on October 17 during the inauguration of the academic year at the University of Arts in Poznań.

Józef Robakowski also received the title of Doctor Honoris Causa in 2017 from the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź.

Józef Robakowski - Born in Poznań in 1939, a graduate and professor of the Cinematography Department of the Lodz Film School, a multimedia artist - photographer, author of documentary films, experimental video recordings, drawings, installations, objects, conceptual projects, and initiator of exhibitions and artistic actions. He is a co-founder of many experimental artistic groups, including Zero-61 and the Film Form Workshop. He was an active participant in the so-called "Kultura zrzuty", the underground artistic life during the Martial Law period. He initiated the establishment of the Katarzyna Kobro Award. He is a member of the Kunstlergremium International Association of Artists.
