Two launches of books published by Lodz Film School Publishing House have been organized for the 44th Polish Feature Film Festival in Gdynia. We invite you to the meeting with the books’ authors.

“MONEY - PRODUCTION - MARKET. FINANCING FILM PRODUCTION IN POLAND.”
Artur Majer, Agnieszka Orankiewicz, Anna Wróblewska
17 September | 15:00-16:00 | Gdyńskie Centrum Filmowe - Gallery GCF

There is no single method of writing about the living organism of film production. One should search, err, name, point and finally, analyze that which has been noticed. It sounds more like fun rather than knowledge but it is very serious. If it were otherwise, millions and billions in every currency of the world would not be spent on movies. The authors present the production financing mechanisms that are - or could be - available in Poland. Over time, the publication will undoubtedly, take on the character of a historical document about the world of film production financing in Poland from 2005–2018. This publication is a voice on the financing of native film production and may possibly be the starting point for further research in this field.

"THE SOCIAL DIMENSION OF FILM PRODUCTION IN POLAND" Tomasz Kożuchowski, Iwona Morozow, Roman Sawka
18 September | 15:00-16:00 | Gdyńskie Centrum Filmowe - Gallery GCF

The book is partly the continuation of a new tradition of research into the culture of film production, outlined in the book by Marcin Adamczak, "Beside the screen", which focuses on a detailed anthropological analysis of the various stages of work on a film. The interesting research perspective of this publication is also opened up thanks to the authors involved in it, who combine theoretical and practical knowledge, thus offering a unique insight view into the world of audio-visual production in Poland based on both experience and knowledge. In effect, this book is, in a way, an attempt to "disenchant" the Polish dream factory. The authors of the book repeat Vicki Mayer’s postulates to "restore that which is social" and bear in mind the fact that behind every great and small film work there are working people and a multitude of stories to tell.
