On12 May, at the Nowy Theatre in Lodz, the Closing Gala of the 37th DRAMA SCHOOLS’ FESTIVAL was held.

On Sunday, 12 May, on the stage of the Nowy Theatre in Lodz, the second year students of acting of the Lodz Film School sang retro songs at the Drama Schools’ Festival Closing Gala. The artistic supervisor of the show was their teacher, Barbara Dziekan-Vajda. Then, the speeches followed and the most awaited jury verdict.

The jury of the 37th Drama Schools’ Festival in Lodz, whose members were:

at the meeting on May 11, 2019, having seen twelve competition diploma plays presented by students of the Acting Departments from:

Theatre Academy named after Aleksander Zelwerowicz in Warsaw Drama Arts Academy named after Stanisław Wyspiański in Krakow Drama Arts Academy named after Stanisław Wyspiański in Krakow – Branch in Wrocław
National Film, Television and Theatre School named after Leon Schiller in Lodz

granted the following Awards:

GRAND PRIX in the amount of 15,000 PLN, funded by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, to the students of the Krakow Drama Arts Academy for the play "What’s Eating Gilbert Grape"; Cast: Marianna Linde, Iga Rudnicka, Małgorzata Walenda, Przemysław Kowalski, Dariusz Pieróg and Jakub Sielski.

Two Main Awards in the amount of 5,000 PLN each to:
Vanessa Aleksander from Warsaw Drama Acedemy for the role of Pazyfae in the play "Everyone must die one day Porcelain, or the thing about the Trojan War" and for a role of Sonia in the play "Platonov" Elżbieta Zajko from the Lodz Film School for her performance in the show "Fever" and for a role of Harper Pitt in the play "Angels in America".

Four equal Awards in the amount of 3,000 PLN each to:

Żaneta Homa from Wroclaw branch of Krakow Drama Arts Academy for a role in the play "Tomorrow will always be tomorrow"
Piotr Pacek from the Lodz Film School for his performance in the show "Fever"
Konrad Szymański from Warsaw Drama Academy for the roles of Golden-haired Paris and Unfortunate Menelaus in the play "Everyone must die one day Porcelain, or the thing about the Trojan War” and for a role of Osip in the play "Platonov"
Ksenia Tchórzko from the Lodz Film School for her performance in the show "Fever" and for the roles of Hannah Porter Pitt, Ethel Greenglass Rosenberg, Rabbi Isidor Chemelwitz in the play "Angels in America".

The jury awarded ten equal distinctions in the amount of 1,000 PLN each to:
Aleksandra Skraba from the Lodz Film School for her performance in the show "Fever" and for a role of Youngster Alice in the show "Slippery Words"
Michał Sikorski from Krakow Drama Arts Academy for a role in the show "West Coast"
Katarzyna Gałązka from Warsaw Drama Academy for a role of Dancer in the play "Everyone must die one day Porcelain, or the thing about the Trojan War "
Kinga Zygmunt from Wroclaw branch of Krakow Drama Arts Academy for a role in the show "Spring Chickens"
Jakub Kordas from Warsaw Drama Academy for a role of the Light-footed Patrocles in the play "Everyone must die one day Porcelain, or the thing about the Trojan War " and a role of Platonov in the play "Platonov"
Tomasz Mechowicki from Wroclaw Branch of Krakow Drama Arts Academy for a role in the play "Short interviews with nasty people" and in the play "Tomorrow will always be tomorrow"
Karolina Rzepa from Wroclaw Branch of Krakow Drama Arts Academy for a role in the play "Short interviews with nasty people" and in the play "Tomorrow will always be tomorrow"
Aleksander Kaźmierczak from Warsaw Drama Academy for a role of Hector, the Unrivalled in the play “Everyone must die one day Porcelain, or the thing about the Trojan War "
Małgorzata Kozłowska from Warsaw Drama Academy for a role of Cassandra in the play “Everyone must die one day Porcelain, or the thing about the Trojan War” and a role of Sasha in the play "Platonov" Kamila Brodacka from Warsaw Drama Academy for a role of Alluring Cressida in the play “Everyone must die one day Porcelain, or the thing about the Trojan War” and the roles of Vengerovic and Vengerovic’ son in the play "Platonov".

The jury awarded the following Special Awards:

Jan Machulski Award "Be an Eagle, Fly High" in the amount of 100 USD to Vanessa Aleksander from the Warsaw Drama School

two Awards of 2,000 PLN each, funded by Opus Film for the actors we would like to see on the television and cinema screen went to: Ksenia Tchórzko from the Lodz Film School
Piotr Pacek from the Lodz Film School

The Award of 2,000 PLN for the audio experience funded by the Toya Group went to:
Jakub Głukowski from Wroclaw branch of Krakow Drama Arts Academy for a role in the play "Short interviews with nasty people” and for a role in the play "Tomorrow will always be tomorrow"

The Audience Awards of the 37th Drama Schools’ Festival in the amount of 2,000 PLN for the Most Electrifying Actress and for the Most Electrifying Actor went to:
Elżbieta Zajko from the Lodz Film School for the roles in the show "Fever" and the play "Angels in America"
Jakub Głukowski from the Wroclaw branch of the Krakow Drama Arts Academy for the roles in "Short Interviews with Nasty People" and "Tomorrow will always be tomorrow".

Special Awards:
ZASP Award (Association of Polish Artists of the Theatre, Film, Radio and Television) – "Stage Board" went to
Żaneta Homa (Wroclaw Branch of Krakow Drama Arts Academy)

Lodz Journalists’ Awards went to
Elżbieta Zajko (Lodz Film School) and Karol "Franek" Nowiński (Lodz Film School)

KALEJDOSKOP culture monthly Award – "for culture of the word" went to Paweł Głowaty (Lodz Film School)

Festival magazine TUPOT Award – "Złota Żyleta" went to Żaneta Homa (Wroclaw branch of Krakow Drama Arts Academy)
