LITTLE SOUL by Barbara Rupik
"A dead body became stuck by a river bank. Its decaying insides still hide a human soul - a miniature of the deceased. Rotting organs part and a tiny creature gets out. Standing on the river bank, it says goodbye to the corpse and sets off on a journey through the post-mortem land."
Screenplay, direction, animation & sound: Barbara Rupik
Music: Maurycy Raczyński
Artistic supervision: Piotr Dumała and Piotr Milczarek

YOU ARE OVERREACTING by Karina Paciorkowska
A hand-drawn animation trying to ask questions about the place of women in a modern society. The film is inspired by everyday life, statements of public people and the way media talk about women. Screenplay, direction, animation: Karina Paciorkowska
Artistic supervision: Piotr Dumała and Piotr Milczarek

OVULE by Natalia Durszewicz
The story of a woman whose fears and illusions materialize in the form of an overwhelming jungle that destroys her and her relationship with her partner. It is also an attempt to analyze the concept of separation anxiety, which is mainly manifested in children. The absence of a mother or father arouses fear and anxiety in the child affected by this disease, and the imagination creates many dark stories. When the children grow up they are usually capable of overcoming such anxieties, but there are people who keep this trauma in themselves, which influences their later relationships. During a long absence of the loved one, the woman falls into paranoia. Nothing is as it seems. She is obsessively suspicious and jealous, seeing a plot everywhere, being afraid of loneliness. Out of this loneliness visions are born, madness and fear begin to materialize. The worst apprehensions become real, they entwine her and take away the ability to think sensibly and objectively, suffocating her. The world of these visions is full of colours, more real and attractive than everyday life, and this contrast shows how dangerous all kinds of mental illnesses are. This in turn makes it difficult for a sick person to understand and distinguish the real world from that which is created by the suffering mind.
Screenplay, direction, animation, camera: Natalia Durszewicz
Music: Vlodymyr Antoniv
Artistic supervision: Mariusz Wilczyński, Joanna Jasińska-Koronkiewicz

The International Short Films Competition section will present an animated film "Rain" by our graduate, present PhD student and the Animation Department teacher, Piotr Milczarek.

RAIN by Piotr Milczarek
"The roof of an office building. A person who wants to play a joke by shouting and waving his arms creeps over to a man who is smoking a cigarette. This terrifies the smoker so much that he falls from the skyscraper. The falling man arouses interest among employees who sit behind their desks in a large, glazed room. They come up to the windows. This also raises the interest of the chairman who runs out of the office room holding a cloak in his hand..."
Screenplay, direction, animation: Piotr Milczarek
Production: FUMI Studio

Festival in Annecy takes place from 10 to 15 June.
