"We need to know where you want to be in 5 years and we will go together in this direction." Hanna Kisielińska and Anna Pietrzak from High Spot Agency at the Acting Department.
On Tuesday, 9 April, Hanna Kisielińska and Anna Pietrzak, partners of High Spot IN.TRIN.SIC, one of the top agencies representing, among others, the interests of actors were guests at Łukasz Maciejewski’s classes in the Acting Department.
Hanna Kisielińska and Anna Pietrzak talked about the beginnings of the agency and its structure. Particular attention was devoted to issues of cooperation with young actors as part of the "Talent Spot" project. Students asked, among others, what should be done to be under the agency's wings, and what should be strictly avoided during initial interviews. Hanna Kisielińska pointed out that one of the most important factors that determines the agency’s cooperation with an actor is their personality, awareness of abilities and the ability to set goals for several years ahead. Anna Pietrzak added that only working with a long-term perspective in mind yields good results: "We need to know where you want to be in 5 years and we will go together in this direction." Among the suggestions for people aspiring to cooperate with the agency was knowledge of contemporary Polish cinema and good preparation of promotional materials such as photos or acting demo.
Talent in this profession is not everything. After recent meetings at the Acting Department, young artists know well that there are many factors potentially leading to success. Absolute honesty to oneself, awareness of the goal, the ability to choose appropriate proposals, and a lot of luck. Is that all? No! The ability to fulfill a wide range of acting activities in a given period of time, keeping a detailed calendar, logistical abilities, and keeping your eyes open for interesting auditions. As Robert Więckiewicz himself emphasized, "It will not be easy, but it is worth it!".
It is also worth being aware of how you can help your own actions, harmonize them and take advantage of the support and experience of the acting agency. For this reason, the guests of the meeting at the Acting Department were Hanna Kisielińska and Anna Pietrzak, the partners in one of the top agencies, i.e. High Spot IN.TRIN.SIC.
The agency represents the interests of actors, directors, screenwriters, cinematographers, composers, set designers as well as other film professionals. Among them there are such recognized artists as Łukasz Palkowski, Bartosz Konopka, Łukasz Bielan, or the composer of film music, Bartosz Chajdecki. The agency has been based in Los Angeles and London since 2015 (thanks to the merger with IN.TRIN.SIC). Thus, the High Spot film industry department adopted the name High Spot In.Trin.Sic Warsaw, becoming the third branch of the company adopting the strategy of a super-boutique, which focuses on the development of the careers of its clients taking into account both local views and international aspirations, focusing on teamwork and drawing from mutual experiences and knowledge.
