Andrzej Munk Prize Competition is over. The jury awarded the main prizes for "Best Direction Debut" and "Best Cinematography Debut" and two distinctions.

On 14 March in the evening, the Andrzej Munk Prize Competition 2019 came to an end.
First, the band COALS had their oneiric show, then the host of the evening, Rector Mariusz Grzegorzek woke everybody up. And it stayed like that until the end. If you missed the occasion you should regret it.

The members of the jury: Bogdan Dziworski, Bronka Nowicka, Jan Komasa, Joaquín Del Paso, Paweł Chorzępa, Maria Ornaf and Adam Suzin awarded the main prizes for "Best Direction Debut" and "Best Cinematography Debut" as well as two distinctions..

The PRIZE in the amount of 10 000 PLN in the category BEST DIRECTION DEBUT went to Jan P. Matuszyński for the film "Ostatnia rodzina". (Last Family)
The jury statement reads: " For master’s approach and treatment of biographical matter using a whole box of director's tools."

The PRIZE in the amount of 10 000 PLN in the category BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY DEBUT went to Michał Marczak, DOP of the film "Wszystkie nieprzespane noce". (All Sleepless Nights)
The jury statement reads: " For the sensory feel of the camera, documentary vigilance and the ability to find yourself in the right place and time"

DISTINCTIONS for DIRECTION were received by:

Jagoda Szelc for the film "Wieża. Jasny dzień." (Tower. A Bright Day) The jury statement reads: " For a bold journey to emotionally border areas and an attempt to describe them with a characteristic writing style"
as well as
Norman Leto for the film "Photon"
The jury statement reads: " For a shockingly human narrative carried out with surgical precision at the molecular level."
