The students from all faculties watching the Oscar Night live at the Film School in Łódź were joined by Jarosław Kamiński, the editor of "Cold War" and our lecturer.

The broadcast of the Oscar Gala from the Dolby Theater was watched by students and lecturers at the Lodz Film School. The account of how we celebrated and lived through the night could be heard on the Polish Radio 3 ! The special program from the School was conducted live by Ryszard "Rico" Jaźwiński, and his first guest was the rector, prof. Mariusz Grzegorzek. The next interviewers in the Trojka studio, arranged professionally at the School, were students and finally our professor, Jarosław Kamiński, the editor of "Cold War".

The winner in all "Polish" categories turned out to be the film "Roma" directed and photographed by Alfonso Cuarón. Congratulations!

We all kept our fingers crossed - especially for our graduate - Lukasz Zal, but the emotions reached the top when "Cold War" was mentioned as a nominee in the Best Foreign Language Film category and also during the last chance for the Polish film for an Oscar and as a matter of fact, its director, Paweł Pawlikowski in the Best Director category. Unfortunately, this time our dreams did not come true.
