Presentation of "Spring Awakening" & "Monument" abroad within the project "Lodz Film School, the ambassador of Polish culture abroad in 2018".

In each of these cities – Brno, Vienna and Belgrade – our acting students will present their diploma work to the international audience – a play "Spring Awakening" directed by Kuba Kowalski and a film „Monument” directed by Jagoda Szelc. Morover, the students will take part in workshops prepared together with the partner schools which will be our hosts - Janáčkova Akademie Múzických Umění in Brno, Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna and Akademija Umetnosti in Belgrade.

Their stay abroad is financed from the funds of the Ministry of Culture of Republic of Poland and National Heritage Operational Program- Polish culture promotion abroad 2018 – Promise, and namely the project – Lodz Film School, the ambassador of Polish culture abroad in 2018. The subsidy from the Ministry’s funds equals 170,000 PLN

"Spring Awakening" by Kuba Kowalski was awarded a number of prizes at the International Drama Schools’ Festival in Rabat, Morocco (prize for Karolina Bruchnicka, for direction and scenography), the Drama Schools’ Festival in Lodz (Festival’s Grand Prix) and the International Student Festival in Moscow (prize for Jakub Zając). Cast: Anna Biernacik, Karolina Bruchnicka, Adrian Brząkała, Jakub Gola, Patryk Kabała, Magdalena Wieczorek, Jakub Zając, Aleksandra Skraba (3rd year student) and as a guest, Mirosław Henke. "Monument", our actors’ diploma film, which will also be presented, is a full-length feature film directed by Jagoda Szelc, whose debut film "Tower. A Bright Day" has already won many prizes.
