At the Haifa International Film Festival the results of the workshop "Inspired by Kuba. Following the vision of Janusz Morgenstern" in which we participated, have been presented.

The program was initiated by DocuVillage from Israel which produces and promotes documentary films in that country. The film schools’ students from Israel and our students, who took part in the workshop, were divided into 4 teams and made 4 short documentaries inspired by life and work of Janusz Morgenstern.

Krystyna Morgenstern, Janusz Morgenstern’s wife, is the guest at the Festival. Our School is represented by the head of the International Relations, Marcin Malatyński, his assistant from the International Relations Office, Dagna Kidoń, and the students - production managers: Malwina Kurzak, Magdalena Pospieszyńska, Alicja Starkowska, Karolina Misiorowska, Mikołaj Krajewski, Michał Fronc, and a cinematographer, Michał Modlinger.

Janusz "Kuba" Morgenstern was a director, screenwriter and film producer; Lodz Film School direction graduate. He worked with Andrzej Wajda on the films: "Kanał", "Lotna", "Popiół i diament"(Ashes and Diamonds). Morgenstern’s excellent debut film was "Do widzenia, do jutra..." from 1960. He directed contemporary psychological dramas, war films and also television series ("Polskie drogi", together with Andrzej Konic - "Stawka większa niż życie"). Morgenstern’s filmography comprises, among others, the films "Jowita" (1967), "Trzeba zabić tę miłość" (1972), "Mniejsze zło" (1980), "Żółty szalik" (2000).

"Dom wspomnień" Efrim Graboy – director, Michał Modlinger - cinematographer, Malwina Kurzak and Michał Fronc – producers
