On 26 April, at 19:00 hrs, there will be a performative reading of Ewa Pytka’s „Super-heroine” fiction script - on the stage of School Theatre professors and students of acting. Visitors welcomed.

The main theme of a film project „Super-heroine” is bravery. What does decency mean nowadays and what it meant during WW II? What influences our behaviour in extreme conditions? What makes us generate extreme behaviour in relationships in peace time?

Ewa Pytka, a fourth year PhD student, is the author of the script for a full-length fiction film „Super-heroine”. The script will be read by the professors and acting students of the Lodz Film School - Julita Sękiewicz-Kisiel, Iwona Karlicka, Marta Wiśniewska, Julia Szczepańska, Konrad Michalak and Aleksander Rudziński. The reading will be followed by a discussion.

The story for the film has been inspired by the lives of two women – a fourty-year-old Agnieszka, who is a film director and a single mother bringing up a mentally ill daughter, and an eighty-year-old Magda who used to be a Home Army counterintelligence agent during World War II, and has also been recognized the righteous among the nations of the world. She also worked as an autistic children therapist. Magda’s prototype is Magdalena Grodzka-Gużkowska. The dramaturgy of the film is based on these two characters crossing each other’s life paths.

The project is carried out within the scholarship of the Minister of Culture and national Heritage 2017.
