Earth undiscovered, blank space on the map, that what is "not seen". Photos by students and graduates of Film School in Łódź in Leica 6x7 Gallery - starting from 22nd of March.
- "Terra Incognita" - earth undiscovered, blank space on the map, that what is "not seen". Could this definition also be referred to the photos presented in a time, when the paradigm of photography is changing before our eyes with every new application or a technological discovery? Could it, in times of "visual overload", be a separate, personal and rich substance? Would it fulfil the need to express Oneself, what is most profound and that which is unknowable in oneself, what cannot be defined, uncovers hidden obsessions, crawling fears and other demons hidden in the shadow of Self…
The exhibition of art works by students and graduates of the Photography Department of the Film School in Łódź can be a mental and emotional journey over the inner Terra Incognita of young creators. It allows us to delve into that hardly known, often invisible world of what’s hidden, and even if it reveals itself during brief strokes, it always eludes unambiguity of beholding and judging – writes Anna Maria Zarychta.
The opening of exhibition "Terra Incognita" 22nd of March (Thursday) on 19:00 (Mysia 3rd street, second floor). The exposition will be combined with a meeting around Film School’s publication "Fotografia i szaleństwo".under edition of Tomasz Ferenc, the promotion of the book is set at 23rd of March (Friday) on 18:00.
As part of the "Terra Incognita" exhibition in Warsaw gallery Leica we will see photos from Justyna Bugajczyk, Justyna Chrobot, Paweł Giza, Hubert Humka, Weronika Jędrzejczyk, Irenka Kalicka, Katarzyna Maluga, Agata Mariańska, Sonia Orlewicz-Zalewska, Alex Raczyński, Martyna Strzelczyk, Bartłomiej Talaga, Karolina Wojtas, Adelina Woś, Mateusz Wosi, Krzysztof Żabski, the curator for the exhibition is Marek Szyryk.
