Film director and screenwriter, graduate of Film Director Faculty in our School, passed away at age of 78.

He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw while working with STS. In 1966 he graduated from Directing Faculty in Łódź. His debut film was “Palec Boży” (The Finger of God) in 1973 which was awarded i.e. at the Film Festival in Locarno and with A. Munk’s Award from Film School for best debut.

Director of fiction films “Strach” (“Fear”, 1975), “Zaklęty Dwór” (The Mysterious Manor”, 1976), “Podróż do Arabii” (“A Trip to Arabia”, 1979), Prognoza Pogody” (“Weather Forecast”, 1982), “Akwarium” (“Aquarium”, 1995) or "Czarny czwartek. Janek Wiśniewski padł" (“Black Thursday”, 2011). He also worked with document films, among them “Piwnica” (N/A) from 2001 and “Radość Pisania” (“Joy of Writing” dedicated to Wiesława Szymborska) in 2005. He made many short films produced in Wytwórnia Filmów Oświatowych (Educational Film Studio) in Łódź. His last film was “Smoleńsk” (N/A) that he made in 2016.

Antoni Krauze passed away 14 of February 2018 at age 78.
