News from Clermon-Ferrand. Best possible ones. "Tremors" by Dawid Bodzak as best film of this international competition
The film directed by Dawid Bodzak and produced in Łódź Film School was present at International Competition of prestigious Clermont-Ferrand Festival, one of biggest short film festivals in the world and… won the competition. The verdict announced on 10th of February in Clermont-Ferrand states: Compétition Internationale - Grand Prix – "Tremors" ("Drżenia") - Dawid Bodzak - The Polish National Film, Television and Theater School in Łódź!
Congratulations for the whole film crew! The Director of Photography for Dawid’s film is Adam Suzin, Film Editing: Kamil Grzybowski. In lead roles: Natan Berkowicz i Tomasz "Gonzi" Haładaj. Artistic supervisors for the film are: Łukasz Barczyk, Jolanta Dylewska and Jarosław Kamiński. We wouldn’t even imagine a better finale for 40th edition of Clermont-Ferrand festival, edition in which Film School in Łódź was invited as special guest. Programme includes two screening groups for our films- one is dedicated to films made by students over past few years, while the other presented films of our most recognised graduates from their student years. Both groups were screened ten times!
During the festival our school was represented by Marcin Malatyński, head of international relations, Dagna Kidoń I Magnus Von Horn - during the meeting with Festival’s participants they talked about our School, they also participated in panel discussion „How to promote film school productions?”, regarding the promotion and distribution of academic films. The participants of this panel were, besides our representatives: Amos Geva (T-Port platform), Luce Grosjean (MIYU distribution, France), Sandrine Cassidy (University of southern California, Etats-Unis), Laure Llose (CINE+, France). The participants talked about building partnership between school and distributor or seller, and about problems that occur in that relation. Our listeners for this panel were representatives of numerous festivals, film schools students and film producers.
