"Polityka" Passports: among nominees Jagoda Szelc

Our direction student, Jagoda Szelc, the director of the awarded debut film "Tower. A Bright Day" has been nominated for “Polityka” Passports Award in the FILM category.

This year, for the 24th time, a magazine Polityka grants its prestigious awards - „Polityka” Passports. We are especially proud and happy because The Lodz Film School is represented by our direction student, Jagoda Szelc, who is now being talked about s lot thank to her debut film "Tower. A Bright Day."

The nominees for the award were chosen by: Barbara Hollender, Bożena Janicka, Tadeusz Lubelski , Łukasz Maciejewski, Jakub Majmurek, Anita Piotrowska, Małgorzata Sadowska, Tadeusz Sobolewski, Jakub Socha and Grażyna Torbicka.

Małgorzata Sadowska in her nomination justification writes: In her film Jagoda Szelc „exorcises family and Poland, evokes ghosts, hypnotizes, awakes sleeping energy in people and nature, cures traumas. What she does is beyond direction, its pure shaman ritual.”

Jagoda Szelc graduated from Wroclaw Academy of Fine Arts and is a direction student at the Lodz Film School. Her film "Tower. A Bright Day" produced at the Indeks Studio received two prizes at Gdynia Film Festival (for best debut film and best screenplay)

In the FILM category there are two other nominees: Paweł Maślona (director of the film "Atak paniki") and Piotr Domalewski (director of the film "Cicha noc).
