Our Student Films Selected for CAMERIMAGE 2017

Camerimage, the International Festival of Cinematographers, starts in Bydgoszcz on 11 November. See which student films from our school have been selected to compete at the Festival.

Each year in late autumn the CAMERIMAGE Festival attracts not only Polish and international cinematographers of all ages but also other film professionals and film lovers. As usual, films of our students compete for the prestigious festival prizes.

Films from our school screening in the STUDENT FILM COMPETITION:

* "Heimat", direction: Emi Buchwald, photography: Tomasz Gajewski Artistic supervision: Filip Bajon and Jacek Bławut Film synopsis: Grown-up children from a peculiar family have to testify at the police station against a man who beat up their father. Cast: Katarzyna Bargiełowska, Bogusław Suszka, Justyna Wasilewska.

* "Sen o Warszawie", direction and photography: Mateusz Czuchnowski Artistic supervision: Ryszard Lenczewski & Wojciech Staroń. Film synopsis: A day in life of three protagonists, two of whom, a father and a son, are refugees seeking a place to live in Warsaw. Cast: Saman Amini & Konrad Eleryk.

The author of the best student film will be awarded The Golden Tadpole Prize – the student prize named after Laszlo Kovacs. There will be also awarded two other prizes: Silver and Bronze Tadpoles.

Films from our school in the SHORT DOCUMENTARY COMPETITION

* "Raz, dwa, zero", direction: Anna Pawluczuk, photography: Piotr Żurawski Artistic supervision: Mirosław Dembiński, Maciej Drygas and Wojciech Staroń. Film Synopsis. Justyna, a nine-year-old girl, practices gymnastics and despite all the effort she puts in it she seldom succeeds to win medals. She decides to become a coach of her younger friends from the sports club.

* "Symbiofonia", direction: Eugeniusz Pankov, photography: Jakub Wójcik Opiekunami artystycznymi dokumentu są: Jacek Bławut i Andrzej Sapija Film synopsis: Is silence really silent? Symbiotic interaction of two different species in a homemade lab where Homo sapiens and Atta sexdens ants share the same habitat.

The 25th Camerimage International Festival of Cinematographers takes place in Bydgoszcz from 11 to 18 November.
