The protest is the result of the decision of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage to remove the director of the Polish Film Institute, Ms Magdalena Sroka from her post. In this way, the students want to express their disagreement with the decision and their concern about the government’s policy towards the functioning of Polish cultural institutions. During the protest organized in front of the Ministry on 16 October at 1 p.m. the students are going to present a letter addressed to the Minister, Prof. Piotr Gliński which says: "As young artists, who in future want to create art in our country, we feel the necessity to express our firm objection to more and more advanced actions aimed at overtaking cultural institutions by politicians."
