Jagoda Szelc’ debut film “Tower. A Bright Day” screening in Main Competition of Polish Fiction Films’ Festival in Gdynia.

The most important festival in Poland: The Polish Film Festival in Gdynia. The most important section of the Festival: The Main Competition that now includes – Tower, A Bright Day by Jagoda Szelc, the Lodz Film School direction student, the film being produced by the INDEKS Film Studio at the Lodz Film School!

The film by Jagoda Szelc is among 17 films, that qualified into the Main Competition of the Gdynia Film Festival. Those films will compete for the Golden Lions, the main prize of the festival and other awards. The “Tower” will be screened alongside films like: "Spoor" by Agnieszka Holland, "Birds are Singing in Kigali" by Joanna Kos-Krauze and Krzysztof Krauze, or "The Art of Loving. The Story of Michalina Wislocka" by Marysia Sadowska. Prof. Mariusz Grzegorzek, the Rector of the Lodz Film School, is the artistic supervisor of Jagoda Szelc's debut film. The film is being produced by INDEKS Film Studio, that facilitatates the startups of the school’s most talented and promising students and graduates. The studio was founded in 1990 as an initiative of Wojciech Jerzy Has, an outstanding film director, lecturer and later the rector of the school. Today the studio bears his name.

„Tower, A Bright Day” is a film about mysterious things happening in the life of a seemingly normal family. Film Cast: Anna Krotoska, Małgosia Szczerbowska, Dorota Łukasiewicz –Kwietniewska, Anna Zubrzycki, Rafał Cieluch, Rafał Kwietniewski, Laila Hennessy, Ida Kwietniewska, Igor Kwietniewski. The director of photography, Przemysław Brynkiewicz, is our School Cinematography Faculty graduate. Art direction: Natalia Giza. Film Production: Indeks Film Studio; producer: Marcin Malatyński, co-producers: Lodz Film School, Centrala, Dreamsound, Heliograf, EBH. The film project of Jagoda Szelc is co-financed by Polski Instytut Sztuki Filmowej. (Polish Film Art Institute).
