The ‘Plastry Kultury’ (Plasters of Culture) have been awarded since 2013 by ‘Plastra Łódzkiego’ (Plasters of Łódź). The awards single out artists and cultural figureheads in Łódź. Nominees were selected by journalists and photographers of ‘Plastra’ (Plasters). It was the general public which voted for the winners, amongst whom we found our very own ‘The Devil Inside Him’ directed by Mariusz Grzegorzek. The play is currently running at our Student Theatre in Łódź. The play, which premiered on the 22nd October, is an adaptation of John Osbourne’s ‘The Devil inside Him’. The cast was comprised of final year students from our Acting Department, namely: Aleksandra Chapko, Aleksandra Przesław, Wojciech Lato, Maciej Musiałowski, Marianna Zydek, Tomasz Marczyński and Cezary Kołacz.

Plaster Kultury (Plaster of Culture) is not the only accolade the play has received of late. Last November at the International Theatre Festival dedicated to student productions in Rabat (Morocco), Maciej Musiałowski won the award for Best Actor for his portrayal of Huw Prosser in the play. Furthermore, Mariusz Grzegorzek (Director and Scenographer of ‘The Devil Inside Him’) was awarded for his innovative set design and unique conceptual vision.
