On the 23rd February, at 18:00, the Museum of Cinematography will present Magalena Franczuk’s THE BOOK OF WONDER. Students and graduates from our film school took part in the project.

‘The Book of Wonder’, written by Magdalena Franczuk (Photography graduate from our film school), is a visual story comprised of 10 chapters. The book is based on the life and adventures of Franciszek Leon Madaleyski – a forgotten 20th century traveller, who was interested in seeking out esoteric events around the world. Each chapter in ‘The Book of Wonder’ is inspired by a different adventure concerning Madaleyski. Throughout the book there are numerous references to Madaleyski. Who is this secretive writer and traveller? An enigmatic figure or just the author’s alter ego? The answer should be sought out by reading ‘The Book of Wonder’.

The majority of the team behind the book (photographer, set-designer, costume-designer, make-up artist, production managers) will be present during the meeting at the Museum of Cinematography. The graphic designer, translator and actors (who took part in the various photo shoots) will also be present. Amongst them you will find students and graduates from out film school, namely: Joanna Zagórska, Karolina Krawczyńska, Krzysztof Rogucki, Magdalena Żak, Marianna Zydek, Oskar Stoczyński, Paulina Walendziak, Wojciech Lato and Sabina Karwala. The discussion will be hosted by Kuba Mikurda, a philosopher and film critic.
