Our cinema is hosting a month dedicated to animations. On Thursday 26th, at 19, viewers will be able to accustom themselves with the workings of the "fairy-tale inustry".

Viewers will have the opportunity to delve into the secrets of a production studio specializing in animated films. The planning of a film’s run on the festival circuit will be discussed, alongside ways in which to obtain a local and international distributor for the project. Why are there so few feature-length animated films being produced in Poland? Do Polish animated films gather interest from abroad? Why do critics rarely review animated features?

Justyna Rucińska from WJTeam will provide a producer’s insight on proceedings. Whilst Agnieszka Kowalewska-Skowron from MOMAKIN will evaluate matters from a distributor’s perspective and explain how various initiatives promote Polish animated films. Festival programming and the use of animations for educational purposes will be discussed by Aneta Ozorek – producer of cultural events, festival programmer and expert on film education.

The meeting will be followed by a pre-premiere screening of Alê Abreu’s animated feature-length film "Boy and the World", which was nominated for an Oscar at the 2016 Academy Awards.
