The Acting Department welcomes prof. Krystyna Duniec from Polish Academy of Sciences - a leading figure on Theatre studies and contemporary drama and author of numerous books and articles.

Prof. Krystyna Duniec discussed New Theatre with students and lecturers from the Acting Department. She did so a day after participating in the REVOLUTION? WHAT REVOLUTION? debate held in Warsaw and organized by the Theatre Institute. The debate concerned January 1997, a date regarded by many theorists as being revolutionary for Polish Theatre. That historic date saw the premiere of Grzegorz Jarzyn’s "The Tropical Craze" and Krzysztof Warlikowski’s "Electra". During the lecture, overseen by Łukasz Maciejewski, prof. Krystyna Duniec discussed the relevance of terms such as "revolution", “New Theatre” and "progress" and evaluated the role of the actor within contemporary Theatre.
