Although the whole workshop lasted from 5 to 8 December, the lecture in Lodz was held on the final day, Thursday, the 8th Dec.

PART ONE:
OPEN LECTURE 5 December, 2016, Monday, 11.00 – 17.00. Kultura Cinema
It is addressed to those who are involved in a process of a literary development, i.e. screenwriters, producers, consultants, etc. The lecture will be devoted to the most important aspects of a film screenplay development and its stages: an outline, treatment, drafts. How to handle development in an author’s project, and how to deal with it in a more commercial project? Other issue such as, the role of a producer, adjusting the length and character of the development to a given project, screenwriting consultations, the relation of a screenwriter and a consultant. Communication skills in a relation of a producer, a screenwriter, a consultant and a director.

PART TWO:
A WORKSHOP FOR SCREENWRITING CONSULTANTS
6 & 7 December, 2016, Tue - Wed, 10.00 – 18.00, PISF Conference room
In this part of the workshop will run three screenplays’ analysis with the participation of their authors and a group of script consultants. Each script analysis will be preceded by a short lecture and followed by “questions and answers” session.

• First Day: Methods and tools presentation. The initial lecture of David Howard will be followed by a thorough analysis of the first fiction project. The Question &Answer Session with all workshop participants is the last item on the agenda on that day.

• Second Day. David Howard will run two other analyses.

ALL LECTURES AND DISCUSSIONS WILL BE RUN IN ENGLISH.

After the three-day-long workshop in Warsaw David Howard will meet Lodz Film School students for a day. The form of the meeting will be very similar to the first day of Warsaw workshop – an open lecture on „tools of screenwriting”.
