A social horror film? Bartosz Kowalski’s debut film with photography by Mateusz Skalski will open Munk Competition. The screening on 3 Nov. at 7 p.m. will be followed by a meeting with film-makers.
Andrzej Munk Prize Competition for debut full-length fiction films has been organized by the Lodz Film School every other year since 1965 and among the prize winners there were the best Polish directors: Skolimowski, Kieślowski, Żuławski. All the films competing for the Prize this year will be screened at the Lodz Film School cinema. The first of them is Bartosz M. Kowalski’s film “Plac zabaw” nominated in both categories: Best Direction and Best Photography which will be screened on Thursday, 3rd November at 19:00.
After the screening there will be a meeting with the film’s director Bartosz M. Kowalski and a producer, Dariusz Pietrykowski, who will talk about making the film which was already controversial at the stage of screenwriting.
